Last week was a busy week for the NCCC. Sadly, we had to bid farewell to Ambassador Nolke. During our Patrons Dinner, we presented her with a gift and flowers and thanked her for all her support. We wish her all the best as she prepares for a well-earned retirement.

Mayor Jim Watson and the City of Ottawa hosted 2 wonderful events in Den Haag and Amsterdam. The tourism folks did a great job and lots of people were talking to me about going to visit there in the near future. High Tech and Innovation clusters featured Cybersecurity and Autonomous Driving amongst others, showing how attractive the area is. Well done!

The 75th anniversary of the start of Operation Market Garden saw thousands of people visit a WWII base camp set up in Schijndel. The event was marked with a week of parades, remembrance ceremonies, concerts and parachute drops. Amazingly, one of the veterans, former UK paratrooper Sandy Cortmann, took part in the jump at the ripe old age of 97!  #friendship75
