Today the Partners for International Business (PIB) for Resilient Cities Canada was launched in The Hague. Dutch Special Envoy for Water Affairs Henk Ovink, Canadian Ambassador to the Netherlands, H.E. Sabine Nölke, and Dutch Ambassador to Canada, H.E. Henk van der Zwan, underlined the importance of this public-private initiative.

The event marked the start of a 3 year collaboration to resolve future challenges faced by Canadian cities and is a direct result of the 2015 state visit to Canada by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima.

Especially praised during the meeting was Deltares' Hans van Duijne who played a vital role in bringing together the parties involved.

Also invited for the occasion were the Dutch Consul General of Toronto, Anne van Leeuwen, and the Dutch Consul General of Vancouver, Gert Heijkoop.
